{Scrapbook Page} The Classics

I haven't been able to participate in many challenges this month. A lot has been happening for me in the background. My source for supplies has changed a little so I've had to rethink a few things. I've also been thinking about my page for an article that will hopefully be featured in an upcoming issue of Scrapbooking Memories magazine.

AND of course it's time for Scrapbooking Memories Masters competition. I'm super excited because I'll be entering for the first time. I completed one piece and because of that invisible (very high) bar I keep setting myself, I wasn't happy with the result so I've started anew.

I've changed to scrapping on 8.5x11 size pages. I usually create 12x12 layouts but it's nice to change it up a little. I like the idea that the albums won't take up so much space! With Instagram introducing the popularity of 4x4 sized photos, this kind of page may work. It's allowed me to experiment much more.

I think there are a lot of changes happening in the scrapbooking world. With change comes rocky times but also great opportunity for wonderful things to happen. Here's to exciting crafty times ahead!

{Scrapbook Page} 4 days at the Grand Prix

I set myself a challenge for this layout - use something that resembles mixed media. I really have no idea about MM but I've been persisting with it because I love it. The other challenge which I did not foresee was the fact that it was going to be a masculine layout because of the photo I eventually chose.

I used gesso, some sprays, inks and a little stamping on my background. Then I went ahead with the rest of the layout. I worried that gold might be a bit 'girly' but I think it worked quite well in the end.

I'm joining in at Life.Paper.Scrapbook again this month. I really enjoy their sketch challenges.

I love these Jenni Bowlin gold rub-ons but they drive me nuts. They are sooo sticky that some of them were ruined upon opening the packaging!

This Basic Grey jeep rub-on is too cute. I know it's not exactly representative of the fast cars of this layout but I love it anyway.

{Scrapbook Page} The golden days of autumn

I absolutely adore the colours of autumn. I had the pleasure of scrapping a couple of photos I took of my kids (enjoying themselves!) raking up the fallen leaves. I even discovered a piece of vellum in my stash with printed autumn leaves on it - perfect!!

I've joined in over at Purple Pumpkin, following a terrific sketch by Yvonne Yam.

Purple Pumpkin June sketch challenge:

I enjoyed making my own tag made from kraft paper and embossed with a gorgeous folder appropriately named Forest Branches. I also used lovely gold rubons by Jenni Bowlin for the month. Stamped images in my cluster are from Close To My Heart and the ink is called Desert Sand, which I'm using to death at the moment (check them out here). Can you tell I loved creating this page??

{Scrapbook Page} Love

The problem I have sometimes with owning a piece of incredibly beautiful paper is that I find it hard to find just the right project to use it for...but I finally used this beautiful Anna Griffin paper. Most other products I used came from the divine D-Lish Scraps store.

I create this page for a photo I forgot I had and now it will be treasured. It has to be one of my favourite photos.

I've joined in at D-Lish Scraps challenge again - the mood board is gorgeous indeed. I was inspired by colours and the triangles.

{Scrapbook Page} Keepin' it cool

Hi there! I'm back again with another challenge. I've joined in over at Scrap 365 for the first time. Their sketch was great fun to follow.

I receive my scrapbook kits from Blue Bazaar and the lovely Luise threw in a curve ball in the last kit - a bandanna! I knew exactly which photo I was going to scrap but how to use the bandanna??

After a little fiddling around, I ripped up strips of the fabric and zigzag stitched them together. I'm really happy with the final product.
