{Card} Envelope fun

Not much scrapping this week as I'm organising my things for a scrap retreat this weekend. I'm very excited since it will be my very first scrappy retreat. I've packed everything but the kitchen sink but I'm keen on being super organised so I can scrap my little heart out (and drink some wine in between).

This is a card I made recently - something a little different to what I usually do. Lots of layering and I was keen to use the most adorable gold leaves I received in my Blue Bazaar kit. The journey card is from Kaisercraft and everything is tucked into the bottom of a mini envelope. I also added some gold washi tape. The birthday stamp is from Close To My Heart.

The papers are actually from an old Becky Higgins Project Life kit - I'm forever thinking of uses for that kit because it feels like I will never get through them. I don't pocket scrap and don't feel the urge to do that any time soon but the cards are lovely.

Happy scrapping and see you on the other side.  I hope to show you my layouts from the retreat :)

{Scrapbook Page} Introducing Hardware Lane

I'm back with another page for another challenge! This is for Life.Paper.Scrapbook April Challenge and it was great fun creating it.

I've hidden the journaling on a tag behind the papers and it was really great to use the gorgeous map designed paper by Studio Calico. I managed to find some brickwork designed paper (from Kaisercraft) which I thought was very fitting for this page.

Here's the Life.Paper.Scrapbook sketch:

{Scrapbook Page} Rainbow Band Crazy

When I looked at the picture used as inspiration for SUYS challenge this month, I just thought - circles = rainbow bands! My kids are crazy about them at the moment and it's really cute to see them concentrating on making bands for everyone.

I basically hunted down every circle embellishment I could find for this layout. I made my own circle embellishments too - the two lollipop looking circles are made with twine twisted round and round and glued down onto a piece of paper. Easy Peasy.

This is the inspirational picture from Show Us Your Stuff April challenge...

{Scrapbook Page} In the swing of things

I enjoyed scrapping this older photo of my little girl for the White with 1 challenge. This month the colour is Mint....

ww1 mint

It was interesting to see what I had in my stash that was mint and NOT teal. Ah, I love you teal but it was a nice change to see mint :)

Mind you, this page nearly wasn't. I'm very much a novice with mixed media and my craft table is certainly not set up for the mess. I pulled out the black glimmer mist (you can see where this is going, can't you?) and placed the opened bottle on the table so I could do some splatters. I reached for scrap paper to cover my photo so as NOT to get any ink on it and subsequently spilled half the bottle of ink onto the photo. Because the cluster wasn't quite flat I watched the ink spread over the photo and pool there. So paper towels came out, I peeled the photo off, reprinted it and tadaa! as good as new.

{Scrapbook Page} Rainy Day Play

Edit: I just missed out on entering this sketch to Scrap 365!!

I joined in over at Scrap365 for the first time this month. This sketch was simple and lovely.

Lately I've been using monochromatic papers with pops of colour. And I can't seem to stay away from doilies and sequins.

I used a beautiful pocket that came in a Polly! Scrap kit a little while ago and stuck down some circle punched images from a Simple Stories patterned paper inside the pocket. I love how the vellum muted the colours.

{Scrapbook Page} The Other Woodworker

I joined in with D-Lish Scraps mood board challenge again this month. Citrus colours are definitely the all the rage at the moment and I had a lot of fun with this layout.

This is the April mood board. I was particularly inspired by the quilt to the right of the board.

And this is what I came up with. It is busy but I'm happy with it. I pulled out the sewing machine and zigzag stitched all the background pieces. I love the paper clips with a fabric flag which came in this month's Just Add Paper kit.

I also used the most amazing wood-grain sequins finally! It came with a Polly! Scraps kit a little while back and I've been dying to use them :)

{Scrapbook Page} Our Big Little Girl

It's school holidays here so there's been a lot of crafting with the kids and not so much of my own scrapbooking. That's okay with me because the kids still haven't grown out of getting messy with paint and glue and I love that.

I've joined in the fun with Kreative Koncepts (previously known as Scrap Friends) this month. I was very comfortable with following the sketch. I used Close To My Heart glitter paper for the traingle accents on my page and I love how it turned out. I also used a lot of goodies from my Blue Blazaar kit.
