{Cards} Just Because...

I love quote stamps. I don't have enough of them. I recently purchased a Kaisercraft paper pad called Base Coat and it is filled with gorgeous wood, brick and iron papers. Most other supplies are from Close To My Heart.

I've been cardmaking because I feel a crafty slump creeping up so I tend to do make cards for my stash just to keep the momentum going.

Cheers.

{Scrapbook Page} Best Moments

I love this photo of my daughter. She loves baking and the smile says it all.
I've played along with Once Upon A Sketch challenge again. I've flipped the sketch sideways.

I have to say that my last couple of attempt to photograph my pages have been dismal. I think it's time to investigate tips on how to improve scrapbook page photo-taking!

OUAS sketch...

Cheers.

{Scrapbook Layout} What I do...

I'm back with another layout for another challenge. I'm slowly getting into a rhythm with my challenges so I avoid the frantic end of month scrapping!
This layout is inspired by the March mood board over at D-Lish Scraps. It coordinates with their current 'Just Add Paper' kit
I used paint, gesso and lots of washi tape on this layout.

I made my own feathers using washi tape, wire, twine and a bamboo stick. I had no idea what I was doing so I fumbled a couple of times before I got it right. I'm really happy how they turned out. I got this idea from Two Peas In A Bucket but they used ready made feathers.

I'm a big fan of Mercy Tiara's process videos and recently she mentioned something I hadn't really thought of lately. She said that she tends to scrap more everyday things rather than big events - because there are only so many of those throughout the year. And I think I've been trying to scrap big events which wasn't working for me because I just don't have that many photos (well, not enough to keep up with my daily scrapbooking). I'm starting to really enjoy scrapping the everyday of our lives which in the end is far more meaningful to me.

D-Lish Scraps mood board. I took inspiration from the chevron on the cake and the horizontal strips that have an ombre effect.

{Scrapbook Page} Workin' The Grill

Participating in challenges has given me the opportunity to think a little differently about my photos. I can scrap photos of my kids 'til the cows come home but it's great to scrap other moments in my life -the simple everyday stuff or others in my family that are just as important.
I'm joining in with Scrap The Boys for the first time and I've scrap a photo of the men in my family which was lovely to do. And the colours for this challenge were classic and beautiful.

{Scrapbook Page} Hats off to you

This was a fun layout to do but I found the sketch challenge tough going! This was using Scrap Friends sketch for March.
I'm happy with the result. A particular busy page and something very different for me but it's all good fun.
I had the opportunity to finally use the lovely Studio Calico transparent letters that I've been seeing on lots of pages.

And this was the sketch I followed.

{Scrapbook Page} Sushi Love

My daughter LOVES California rolls (she calls them sushi rolls but there's no raw fish in these little beauties). And of course she loves squeezing over soy sauce from those teeny tiny fish-shaped bottles :)

I had a little fun hand stitching a heart. I have a lot of quilting thread so why not?

I used:

Papers - Crate Paper, Kaisercraft, Carta Bella, Prima
Stickers - Kaisercraft, Simple Stories
Embellies - Freckled Fawn wood veneer frame, Amy Tangerine heart, D-Lish Scraps wood veneer shapes and washi tape, Close To My Heart twine
Lettering - Simple Stories
Other - Close To My Heart ink, Urban Artist stensil, thread
